We’ve been hearing that Apple will resurrect its colorful past with the most affordable member of its 2018 iPhone crop – the 6.1″ LCD model, dubbed XR – and now we have some tangible proof, along with the names of the multiple colors the handsets will be available in.
Thanks to Apple’s sitemap code (again), the iPhone XR’s color versions are revealed to be Black, White, Red, Yellow, Blue, and Coral. We knew about the extra red and blue colors that will come, courtesy of previous leaks, but yellow and coral take us by surprise. Coral, in fact, is tipped to look closer to an orange shade than anything else, but we’ll believe it when we see it.
Well, yellow may very well be the golden color of the new iPhones that has been tipped already here and there, but Coral is a bit of a mystery still. We can’t wait to see how those colors look in reality, as glass bodies are notoriously difficult to paint in multiple hues, so Apple only outed the iPhone 8, Plus and X in a limited palette. Now, however, practice has made perfect, and the Coral and Blue versions will be a welcome addition to Apple’s typical iPhone coloring book.
